June Is “Caribbean American Heritage Month”


Fort Lauderdale, FL – June 4, 2008 - On June 5, 2006 President George W. Bush signed a proclamation making June officially Caribbean American Heritage Month.


National Caribbean American Heritage Month has been established to recognize the historic relationship between the people of the Caribbean and the people of the United States as well as to recognize the many contributions of Caribbean immigrants and their descendants to the well-being of America.


In honor of Caribbean American Heritage Month, the Miss Florida Caribbean Pageant is inviting Caribbean nationals who use Social Network Sites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and Carib Tweet to to join them in changing their Avatar to the Caribbean American Heritage Month logo during the month of June.
