The Miss Florida Caribbean Pageant begins The “Are You Glam, Gorgeous and Green” Campaign Search
FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida - May 28, 2009 - The Miss Florida Caribbean pageant announced today that it is “Going Green” and has officially kicked-off the “Are you Glam, Gorgeous and Green” campaign search. Eligible young Caribbean women are invited to compete for the prestigious title “Miss Florida Caribbean”, and the opportunity to represent the Sunshine State at the 2010 Miss Caribbean United States in New York. The winner of the 2010 Miss Caribbean United States will go on to represent Caribbean nationals, within the United States, at the Miss Caraibes Hibiscus International competition in St. Maarten.
Contestants of the Miss Florida Caribbean pageant, should be single, never married, nor given birth to a child; must have been born in the Caribbean or of Caribbean origin; and who reside in the state of Florida for at least 6 months as of the date of 2009 competition. Junior division must be between the ages of nine (9) through twelve (12). Teen division must be from thirteen (13) through seventeen (17). Miss division must be from eighteen (18) through twenty-five
The Miss Florida Caribbean Pageant provides young women with a vehicle to further their personal, professional and humanitarian goals, while providing a forum in which they can express their talents, intelligence and opions on culture, politics and the community. Selected delegates will undergo professional training in a personality development and grooming workshop which includes: public speaking, confidence building, pageant walk and stance, posture and deportment, grooming, social graces, make-up application and wardrobe coordination.
The Miss Florida Caribbean pageant is a great opportunity for young women to become involved in their community through social and cultural activities and humanitarian programs.
The eighth annual “Evening of Pageantry” slated for Sunday, November 15, 2009, promises a glamorous and spectacular showcase under the theme “It’s All About Being Green.” Set to begin at 7:00p.m., it will be held at the Grand Dania Ballroom of the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Airport, located at, 1870 Griffin Road, Dania Beach, Florida.
